Greater Regional Health leaders attend the annual Rural Leadership Retreat, Amy Rieck accepts leadership award

Many leaders from Greater Regional Health participated in the 2024 UnityPoint Health Rural Leadership retreat. This retreat serves as a vital platform designed to empower rural healthcare leaders, offering them a unique opportunity to network with one another, share their diverse experiences, discuss the various challenges they face, and gain valuable insights that can be utilized to enhance patient experiences within rural communities. The leadership retreat fosters collaboration and innovation among professionals who are deeply committed to improving healthcare delivery in rural areas, where resources may be limited but the need for quality care is paramount.

Throughout the course of the retreat, leaders were recognized for their outstanding contributions within the field of rural healthcare. Two leaders were honored for their significant impact and leadership. Among them, we are very excited to extend our congratulations to Amy Rieck, who serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Amy was awarded the UnityPoint Health Rural Healthcare Leader Award, a recognition that highlights her commitment and dedication to the mission of Greater Regional Health and the well-being of our patients. Her leadership has not only influenced organizational growth but also inspires her colleagues to strive for excellence. We express our deepest gratitude to Amy for her efforts and the positive change she has fostered within Greater Regional Health.

Amy Rieck has been at GRH for 18 years and the Chief HR Officer for 9 years.

Creating A Positive Impact

Amy Rieck has dedicated 18 years to Greater Regional Health. During her tenure at GRH, she has witnessed the organization grow from under 100 employees to its current workforce of more than 580 employees.

Amy's passion for Human Resources began during her college years. Initially, at the University of Nebraska, she pursued a major in accounting. However, she switched to Business Management after realizing that a career focused on numbers wasn't her true calling. Her interest in HR was sparked after her first class in the subject, and she knew it was the right path for her. Throughout her career, she has gained experience in every area of HR and appreciates the variety each day brings.

Amy genuinely appreciates her role at Greater Regional, and we are thankful for her dedication and effort in ensuring our staff and patients achieve the best outcomes. When asked about her favorite aspects of leadership at Greater Regional Health, Amy highlighted her enjoyment in assisting employees with various aspects of their lives, including wages, benefits, company culture, and personal matters like childcare and housing issues in our community. She emphasizes that being in a rural community enables you to form connections; it's more than just a job!

Greater Regional Health takes pride in our leadership team and their daily commitment to making Greater Regional an outstanding workplace and a key part of our rural community. We congratulate Amy Rieck on her well-deserved recognition for her hard work and leadership abilities.
